biographical info
Backwoods Justice is a Toronto-based art rock quartet, currently playing around Southern Ontario. Tim Carson, Rob Blank and Tyler Wagler grew up playing music together and sharing formative experiences in the small town of Owen Sound. By 2005 they all wound up in Toronto and began writing music together. After experimenting as a trio they enlisted the superlative drumming skills of Christian Ingelevics, who helped turn them into a powerful and dynamic live act. With all four members sharing instrumental, vocal and songwriting duties, they have evolved their original sound out of their common influences of rock, folk, reggae, jazz and soul. This is not weak eclecticism but a thick, organic gumbo of sounds. With powerful songs relating their understanding of all the tragedy and comedy of life, Backwoods Justice is a band that can simultaneously rip your hear out, shake your ass and expand your mind. They can be found performing in Toronto and around Southern Ontario in support of their second EP, Earthquake Feet.
