"Rudy is a songwriter with a rare and wonderful gift” [Exclaim]
Drawing elements from pop, folk and rock, Brian Rudy’s music is driven by his distinctive acoustic guitar style and the strength of his songwriting. His critically acclaimed 1999 debut "Divided Man” has received regular campus radio rotation and national airplay on the CBC. It features Gavin Brown (Big Sugar), Dave Clark (Rheostatics) and Cate Friesen. Two of the songs from the record have been finalist in different songwriting competitions – UNISONG International, and the Ontario Council of Folk Festivals. Music from the album is also being used in 2 independent Canadian film projects.
"Divided Man is impressive in both music and scope...intricately textured, beautiful, and highly listenable." [ECHO]
Brian has toured across Ontario including shows at Toronto’s Cabbagetown Festival, the B.O.M.B. New Music Festival in Buffalo, and a performance on CITY-TV's nationally broadcasted Breakfast Television.
