biographical info

BlueScreen all met in Toronto while supporting each other’s bands at various venues throughout the city. Small talk over beers and under crashing cymbals eventually lead them to a practice space at 660 Richmond where they now create some beautiful yet edgy, hard yet soft spine tingling music. Some comparisons of their music have been to My Bloody Valentine, Joy Division, Lush, The Cure and The Cranberries. In 2002 the band worked with producer Rob Sanzo (controller.controller, Treble Charger, Sum 41) to complete their first release entitled "In Between Worlds". The CD was released in May 2002. Reviews have been very positive. Canada’s Exclaim magazine wrote, "blueScreen ambitiously pours out some of the most beautiful atmospheric pop, like liquid silver. They combine crunchy guitars, ethereal vocals and all sorts of effects to create one great swirling mass of sound. Each song ebbs and flows in perfect rhythm, at some points evoking a sense of the world in slow motion." In 2004 songs "Araby", "Touche le Fond" and "Be" from blueScreen’s debut CD were prominently featured on Decode Entertainment television series Radio Free Roscoe, YTV series Dark Oracle and VH1’s Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story. BlueScreen is currently working on a follow up to In Between Worlds at Andy Magoffin's House of Miracles in London, Ontario. Their new album is set to be released winter 2005.
