biographical info
It’s your typical tale. BARNHOUSE STATIC happened in that folk-singer meets punk- drummer, punk-drummer buys accordion sort of way. In 2000 Kathy Evans was enjoying the quietude of playing solo in St. Catharines’ many watery-draft type establishments and Peter Duffin was touring the country with two-time JUNO award nominated GREVIOUS ANGELS. Toronto’s Duffin had enjoyed success recording and touring with ANDREW CASH and 80’s punk band L’ETRANGER.. Evans had always been the lone songwriter at the front of the room with a story to tell and no one to tell it to. Somehow they met up, played some songs and formed BARNHOUSE STATIC. So what do a punk-drummer and a folk-singer have in common anyway? Well, when Duffin attacks his accordion, mandolin or what ever else happens to be handy with the raw guts befitting Evan’s infectious tunes and festering lyrics, what they have in common is their debut CD “Through Dusty Windows”.
Barnhouse Static is currently working on their second record.
