artist Asim Chin

Asim Chin grew up in his hometown of Edmonton, Canada playing classical and jazz piano from a very early age. Asim picked up his first guitar when he was 17 years old, and used his quick ability to play by ear to put his own folk-rock style into some of his favourite pop radio songs (all of which can be seen on his popular YouTube Channel). While performing acoustic covers of everything from 80’s classics to current Top 40 hip-hop tunes, Asim started developing his own song writing skills with a focus on unforgettable melodies, distinct rhythms and honest lyrics. Having just released his debut EP, 'Boxed In', he is continuing to perform a variety of originals and covers for audiences in and around his hometown. Just in the past year, Asim has played over 50 shows at both local music venues and on behalf of numerous charitable organizations with his warm stage presence, and diverse solo acoustic sets. In 2009, Asim was accompanied by the star-studded David Foster Band at the 'Soaring With Song' breast cancer benefit show held at the Winspear Center; and this past year in 2010, Asim sang in front of an audience of over 10,000 in Churchill Square for the CIBC's Run For The Cure.
