Citizen Sound is once again spreading the word, this time with the single Seasons Change, featuring vocalists Melodic and Jahdan Blakkamoore. The riddim blends the styles of classic reggae and hip-hop together, creating a timeless soundscape behind the vocalists’ story telling. Along with the original and instrumental versions, Seasons Change includes remixes from heavyweight dub producers Early Worm and Richie Phoe. Seasons Change is Citizen Sound's third single on Balanced Records, following up the recent release of Wa Do Dub and Trouble singles featuring Ammoye.

History            Citizen Sound is the production moniker of Toronto-based DJ and producer Aram Scaram. In addition to his work in the studio, Aram is the co-host of Version Xcursion, a weekly Saturday night radio show that has provided Toronto with some of the most ground-breaking dub for the past 13 years. Through Version Xcursion, Aram produced and released two full-length albums along with three EPs, including the critically acclaimed Treson meets VX.

Current             Recently recorded under the Citizen Sound moniker is the single ‘Reggae Is Her Name’ featuring Blessed, which is tearing up Charts both in Canada & Internationally. The 2nd single ‘Trouble’ featuring Ammoye, signed to Balance Records, is getting rave reviews from such international DJ’s and tastemakers as Roy Davis Jr. and Laurent Garnier to name a few.

Album             Citizen Sound’s debut album explores early sound system culture and its continuous influence on the music scene worldwide, particularly within the Canadian music scene. Producer Aram Scaram teams up with some of Canada’s premier singers & musician’s to help bring his home-grown vision to life. The end result is an exciting fusion of dub, reggae, soul & hip-hop that pays tribute to the foundational roots, while simultaneously taking the sound into the future.

The album features Juno winners Blessed, Dubmatix, Prince Blanco,  & Richard Underhill, along with contributions from rising stars Ammoye, Treson, Grand Analog & Len Bowen. Accomplished musicians Andrew Thompson, David Buchbinder and Natewize round out the roster of exceptional Canadian talent featured on this release.

‘Reggae is her name’, the new single from Citizen Sound featuring Blessed, tells the story of a girl growing into a women as a metaphor for reggae music. Teaming up to pay their respects to reggae’s foundation, they deliver a killer combination of Blessed’s powerful voice and the dub inspired production from Toronto-based producer Aram Scaram.

Featuring Prince Blanco on bass & guitar, Natewize on keys, trumpets by David Buchbinder and harmonies by Ammoye, Aram Scaram has crafted a unique and timeless riddim that compliments Blessed’s vocal styling.

A history of reggae, ‘Reggae is her name’ is the 2nd single from the Citizen Sound project and will be released digitally April 30 2010 through Renegade Media. This single is in support of the full album set for release in June 2010.
