Burlington-based singer/songwriter Annie Marleau has exceptional discipline and talent for setting goals and reaching them. Her foundation was established through her experience to graduate from the National Ballet School.
Since the release of her her debut CD "Alive" in 2006, Annie has been receiving much attention for her music. Her list of credits include radio airplay across Canada for her single "Run" with the help of Toronto's Db Promotions (Rock Voisin, Amy Sky and Olivia Newton-John). Also, a 4-week run at #1 on the Independent Artists Company (IAC) music chart for her single "Addicted" as well as being a featured artist on XM Satellite Radio's "the Radar Report".
Her music has been described as "unique indie pop material with a strong adult contemporary influence". Her songs have passion, power and range and her lyrics are intelligent with deep meaningful messages. Distinctive influences of singer/songwriters Jann Arden, Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crow can be heard in her style, but make no mistake she is clearly paving her own road.
Over the past few years, Annie has performed at several Toronto/Hamilton area venues including, Hamilton Place (with Ray Lyell), the Cameron House, Healey's, Lee's Palace, The French Quarter Festival and opening for Molly Johnson at Burlington's Sound of Music Festival in June 2007.
He debut cd "ALIVE" can be purchased on iTunes as well as CD Baby. She is currently working with producer/engineer Michael Jack (Lenz Entertainment) on her second album which she hopes to release some time in 2008.
