Ania Soul would rather avoid the placement of a specific genre all together. BUT if there was a label to add, it would be Soul! She has showcased in over 70 shows this past year delivering her heartfelt songs she penned herself, and growing her fan base rapidly with those who find this rising star’s music a necessity in their lives. She has showcased at Canadian Music Festival, NXNE, Manifesto Festival, the Gaps 1969 premium jean launch, and numerous venues around the city like the Hideout, Tattoo Rock Parlour, Revival bar and more. She has released a music video directed by Chris Strikes (Down With Webster, JDiggz) as a follow up to her debut single ‘Eagle’; A much requested song by her fans with anthem qualities similar to K’naan’s Wavin’ Flag. Like some artists, she dabbles with pop like ballads, reggae grooves, blues undertones, rock, hip hop and her jazzy influences leaving her in a category she calls ‘Soul Alternative’.
