Joining a community of influential Montreal DJs and Producers, this Nova Scotian R&B singer and beat maker has just begun to do his part to help rebuild the landscape of alternative dance music in North America.
Ango's music is uniquely melodic and hopeful, bringing boogie-era synth and drum sounds into context with contemporary R&B bangers, electro and bass music. The eclectic compositions and skillful weaving of other genres during a performance at 2010's Sonar Festival in Barcelona were enough to catch the attention of Glasgow's LuckyMe family (One of the UK's hottest labels and taste makers for whom he is releasing an e.p. In spring/summer 2011) He is also 1/3rd of Nouveau Palais; a group with RBMA classmate/travel buddy Lunice and their mentor: Vancouver's acid hyphy boss Prison Garde (fka Megasoid, Sixtoo). Look for the forthcoming 12-inch on Surefire Sound. Other artists Ango has produced or collaborated with include Modeselektor, Todd Osborne, Katy B, Juan Son, Hovatron, Braiden, Jacques Greene, Salva, Ad Bourke, Ghettosocks, Sontiago, Ruby Jean and the Thoughtful Bees to name a few. In 2010, Ango was selected to for a highly-coveted spot as a participant in the Red Bull Music Academy program.
