Angèle Desjardins is a rising star in Canada’s music scene. Over the past decade, she’s graced stages from Halifax to Montréal, captivating listeners with her soulful, silky voice and powerful range. Her music draws on many influences, such as folk, blues and roots. Fortunately for Ottawa, this prolific singer-songwriter and gifted painter has landed in the Nation’s Capital. After completing a successful residency at Xpresso Café with Amanda Keeley and Markus Lloyd, Angèle has recently begun a new monthly residency at Heirloom Café Bistro in Almonte, Ontario.
Three of Angèle's original songs have been featured in Montreal playwright Joel Fishbane’s play "Short Story Long" and as well, she has performed at many popular events festivals, and venues; some of which include the Montréal Fringe Festival, The Green Room (Montreal) and Rasputin’s Café (Ottawa), Café Expresso (Ottawa). Angele will have more of her music featured in Ottawa filmmaker Amanda Sage’s upcoming movie, “Bliss”.
Angèle is currently recording her first album with Tim van de Ven (of Amanda Mabro) producing; it features some of her favourite artists from Ottawa, Toronto, Montréal and Halifax and she is looking forward to her forthcoming tour in support of this album.
