"Which bits of men are worth applause?"

                                    —Rob Winger

Andy McGuire is a Traveling electro-folk salesman, poetry enthusiast, bush-league birder, amateur etch-a-sketch artist, practicing werewolf.

Building upon the traditions of country and folk, McGuire embraces the shifting limits of indie rock and roots music to carve out his own niche that is marked by the wide-ranging sensibilities and free association of a sharp-witted lyricist.

With two official solo albums, a book of poetry, numerous literary magazine publications, and a punk record side project to his credit—all since 2010—perhaps one of Andy McGuire's most apparent artistic qualities is a tireless commitment to his craft.

McGuire's two official releases to date, Moult (2010) and Body of Work (2011)—both produced by Danny Michel—gave him the invaluable opportunity to record with artists such as Kevin Breit, Bob Egan, and Dennis Pendrith. During that same time, he shared the stage with acts like John K Samson, Justin Rutledge, Lost in the Trees, Danny Michel, and Great Lake Swimmers.

In the three years since his first release, McGuire has been catching the eyes and ears of fans and peers alike, earning himself a reputation for being a true auteur. Since publishing a chapbook of poems (“Sputniks” Baseline Press, 2011) and having his poems appear in national literary magazines, he has also quickly become regarded as a young Canadian poet with great potential.

There are no signs of slowing down for McGuire in 2013. He will begin work on his third studio album in March. Rounding out his band are Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo), Mark McIntyre (Danny Michel), Scott Galloway (Dean Brody), and Jesse Baird (Feist). Always eager to stretch his artistic skin, Mr. McGuire will be producing the album himself in a hundred and fifty year-old Methodist church near Goderich, Ontario.

The album is set for release in fall 2013.
