biographical info

"A gifted singer and songwriter. Follow him to see the seeds of an artist bound for highways and stages for years to come". - Paul Lowenberg, Northern Lights Festival Boreal.

"He's a little bit Jeff Buckley, a little bit Leif Vollebekk, but mostly he's just fantastic".- Amanda Putz, CBC Bandwidth.

Hailing from Central Ontario, songwriter Andrew Laviolette has been described as "one of Sudbury Ontario's best kept secrets". With 6 years of live performances under his belt, including a cross Canada tour in 2011 and a self-released full-length album "This Far From Home", this young musician has gained the reputation of being a passionate and genuine songwriter.

Whether playing all night for the rowdy tavern crowds of Dawson City Yukon, sharing workshops with the likes of "the whisky rabbi" or entertaining a train full of tourists crossing the country, Laviolette grabs and holds his audience's attention with his "give them everything you've got" performance attitude.

During live performances, Laviolette uses his trademark rhythmic, ambient finger-picking guitar playing style to paint a musical landscape for his listeners. He then invites audience members to become his traveling companions and transports them, with his many songs of wanderlust, to somewhere once traveled.

It is through this unique traveling experience that listeners are able to feel the intimate nature of an Andrew Laviolette performance.

You are beautiful.

The last week has been super positive for me and my music. I am in Barrie at the moment after playing 3 nights of music in Sudbury; 2 shows at Little Montreal and 1 at Kevin Cote's house concert alongside Adam Akan and the Sulphur City Blues Band. Gave away the last of my self promotion post cards at Mercedez' breast cancer fundraiser on Sunday. I am hoping that people are able to share my music with their new Andrew Laviolette post cards.

I enjoy returning to Barrie as I am able to jam with my best bud Danny Mac while I'm here. The two of us travelled down to London Ontario last night to play a set alongside Brittany Macdonald and Darrelle London at the London Music Club. We were able to play 6 of my originals as well as 1 new collaborative piece entitled "Invisible". Again, more post cards were given out to new faces in a new city. We drove home in the early hours of the morning listening to Radio 2 Drive and laughing for the hundreds of kilometers it took us to get home. I will remember this night for a long time.

Dreaming and dreaming and dreaming of touring this country.

Playing and playing and playing to share sound.

Laughing and laughing and laughing because I'm alive.

You are beautiful.
