biographical info
"A gifted singer and songwriter. Follow him to see the seeds of an artist bound for highways and stages for years to come". - Paul Lowenberg, Northern Lights Festival Boreal.
"He's a little bit Jeff Buckley, a little bit Leif Vollebekk, but mostly he's just fantastic".- Amanda Putz, CBC Bandwidth.
Hailing from Central Ontario, songwriter Andrew Laviolette has been described as "one of Sudbury Ontario's best kept secrets". With 6 years of live performances under his belt, including a cross Canada tour in 2011 and a self-released full-length album "This Far From Home", this young musician has gained the reputation of being a passionate and genuine songwriter.
Whether playing all night for the rowdy tavern crowds of Dawson City Yukon, sharing workshops with the likes of "the whisky rabbi" or entertaining a train full of tourists crossing the country, Laviolette grabs and holds his audience's attention with his "give them everything you've got" performance attitude.
During live performances, Laviolette uses his trademark rhythmic, ambient finger-picking guitar playing style to paint a musical landscape for his listeners. He then invites audience members to become his traveling companions and transports them, with his many songs of wanderlust, to somewhere once traveled.
It is through this unique traveling experience that listeners are able to feel the intimate nature of an Andrew Laviolette performance.
