biographical info
Born and raised in Canada's East coast, Andrew Cotter has been perfecting his songwritting and performing by touring relentlessly and learning from his piers. From Rock bands Chillin'Room / The Spaces to childrens entertainment Scotty and the Stars Andrew has logged over 200 shows this past year in front of all ages. He now sets out with his debut solo record "Time for Everything" to further his musical expression and continue adding to a flourishing music scene that is Canada's maritimes. Sharing the stage and learning from musicians such as Hot Toddy, Keith Hallett, Ross Neilson , Andrew is set on injecting his unique folk expression of songwritting and lyricism into Canada's folk scene. "Time for Everything" is a mix of emotional music that not only is soothing to the ear but paints a musical picture of love and the roller coaster that is life. The album was recorded and Mastered by Brad Perry (Olympic Symphonium) and Dennis Field of Denmark Productions (Hallifax). Together along with the multi-instrumental talents of Andrew they produced a warm underlying tone that crosses many ages of listeners and can be related to Sounds of the Beach Boys, The Beatles, Crosby Stills and Nash.
Just two months after his First solo release Andrew has already completed a 5 song acoustic demo of new songs. "Medium Rare" demo was recorded, mixed and mastered by the amazing James Gauthier of Medium rare Productions (grand theft bus "made upwards" 2008) This new batch of songs are the buiding blocks for Andrew's next album to be recorded in the new year. Check them out! (You Love this Place, Piece of You, Writting together, Decay)
Constant touring throughout Ontario, Quebec and the maritimes have set the stage for a cross Canada tour in 2010. Stay tunes for dates!
