biographical info
An Accidental Modernist is the collective name of Carolyn Power and the Monty, the nerve center of her empire (and a laptop). Carolyn is actually Irish, but is represented by a Canadian PR group and, as such, is working on making her way to Canada ASAP by degrees! Having spent time doing a music and english lit degree and interviewing people who make music for the college paper and radio station, she decided it was time to try being the person who made the music rather than the person talking to the person who makes the music. (Monty agreed.)
This decision was followed by copious amounts of tea, many late nights and the recording of the first album, Sheep In The Trees. Carolyn is in the process of releasing this album independently online; info on buying when it is up will be posted here! She has already made the cover art; in fact she knitted it while watching Black Sheep. This probably says something important about the state of her mind at that point...
Carolyn is currently working on a play with original music and the second AAM album, Guillotine Stitching Circle. Stay tuned for more info on these and all other things accidental and modernist!
