biographical info

Amy Rivard has a voice like no other. Upon first listening to Cashmere, one will be soothed by the silky tones of Ms. Rivard’s voice. This accomplished performer of Greek, Irish, Flemish and French Canadian ancestry has performed all over the world in shows such as Riverdance on Broadway, Camelot, H.M.S. Pinafore, Into the Woods and The Mystery of Edwin Drood.

What is unique about Amy is the versatility and tone of her voice. Amy attests this to the training she received while getting her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre. She is a creator and an innovator, which all fans could see when she performed her one woman cabaret show on the 6 Star Cruiseline SilverSea and at the Old Vic and Café de Paris in London, England. Amy took this creation to a new level with her debut album of Cashmere. Accustomed to singing songs from the Great American Songbook, Amy wrote the title track on the album and debuted her album to sold out shows at the prestigious Top O the Senator in Toronto and The Top Hat Supper Club in Windsor.

With an apartment already set up in NY awaiting Amy’s arrival, Amy next received a phone call that would leave the apt. empty and take her to one of her dream destinations, Japan! The phone call was to work at Disney’s only water based theme park of Tokyo DisneySea. Amy’s love for Japan grew immensely in her time there, thanks to the culture, people and certainly the food, (Amy would eat natto on a daily basis!) Therefore, when offered a new contract at Tokyo Disneyland, Amy jumped at the chance to stay in Japan a little longer. In Amy’s time working for Tokyo Disney, she could be seen in Encore and The Sounds of Christmas at Tokyo DisneySea, Telato-Miracosta Summer Party at Disney’s Hotel Miracosta and in The Horseshoe Round-up and Peco’s Goofy’s Frontier Revue at the Diamond Horseshoe in Tokyo Disneyland. Additionally, she brought in 2007 with a bang in Disney’s New Year Celebration on The DisneySea Dockside Stage New Year’s Celebrations.

Working in Japan at Tokyo Disney truly was a magical place for it was here that lead Amy to her next show! Amy had a number of friend’s that she had worked with in Riverdance coming to Japan. One of them being David Downes, (composer/creator and musical director) and he was bringing his new show Celtic Woman to Tokyo’s Orchard Hall. Amy was amazed by the show and David’s music. When told that there might be a new position available, Amy sent an email showing her interest. Well, that email lead to great things and Amy was asked to join their world tour! But rehearsals would begin just days after Amy was to finish her contract in Tokyo! So, after flying home to Canada for 2 days and changing time zones 3 different times in a matter of 5 days, Amy began her career with Celtic Woman and will soon be seen on Celtic Woman-A Christmas Celebration which will air on TV stations worldwide this Christmas.

But this is only the beginning…..Amy is currently writing new music for her next album and thanks all of her amazing fans for their support and says, “Thank you for your support and love of Cashmere. My next album is all thanks to you!!!”
