biographical info
Alysse Rich has been one of the more prominent members of the Toronto death-metal folk scene for 15 years - ever since she was ten years old, and wrote her first Janis Joplin-inspired hit 'What the Hell'. Since then, her obsession with satanism and folk music has helped her attract an intense following of rabid fans just aching for new music. Fortunately, she joined forces with the Family Band, a group of money-hungry capitalists who plan to exploit Alysse's already burgeoning fame in order to begin world domination, one cafe at a time. These songs are just a hint of the potential of an already infamous band (recall the legendary mosquito-eating antics of 2004). Joining her in a sonic attack on the eardrums is her sister in blood and magic, Leora, who it is believed has a deep-seated spiritual connection that is greater than just magical harmonies - you can see their unbelievable magic happen when they stare into each others eyes (or souls). Daniel and Sammy Field are part of fraternal octuplets that were born several years apart, which explains the immense differences in musical talent and hair-combing abilities. Daniel, the elder, has become prominent in the music scene for his ability to play guitar with two hands (one strumming, and one playing the notes). Sammy, on the other hand, has trademarked a truly unique way of playing the mandolin, or mandolating if you will, that invloves one of the most stagnated mandolin strumming patterns in death-metal folk today. Rounding out the cast are Marco and Erika, both of whom reside in a cavernous hovel that has been used for stewing up gruel, and band practices. Together they have managed to concoct a sound that while sounding completely similar to some things, sounds absolutely different than others (for example: compare the sound of one hand clapping and Alysse's band. Not the same at all). Stay tuned for the band to take over your world. It will happen soon! Alysse Rich and the Family Band: It's Listenable!
