biographical info
Here is the totally official bio for us which is written in the third person:
"All Purpose Voltage Heroes are a four part keyboard rock troupe from Edmonton/Vancouver, Canada. They have been around for about eight years and have played, like, a million shows. Everything you hear about them is true, no matter how flamboyant.
The music they play is a mixture of dance rock frameworks, catchy pop hooks, screamy hardcore sections, and bad house breakdowns. It's the sound of boys who grew up on Nintendo sessions and punk shows. Cartoon marathons and kung-fu movies. Aqua and Converge. They have three albums so far: 2002's, Decorate Your Monster Shirt, 2004's The End Of Daniel Johnathan Poole, and 2006's Already Haunted EP. There is a new album due in 2010. It doesn't have a name yet, but watch your fucking back.
Like most bands, everybody in the APVH more or less does something. Dan Poole sings while sorta flailing around and sometimes plays a Casio CT-636 by luck alone. Kevin Cherney gets sweaty fairly fast and plays a Casio CT-670 as the band's lead keyboardist. Zack Poole holds a long personal grudge with Kevin and therefore plays a Yamaha DS-55 as the band's rival lead keyboardist. Connor Mayor is really into linguistics and plays a big pile of drums really fast, occasionally stopping to scream. They are four magical people.
The live show is something to be reckoned with. They completely spaz out. They sometimes dress in soccer jerseys. They sometimes dress as 80's goths. They sometimes dress in only primary colors. They play fast, loud, and sloppy, stopping only to ask rhetorical questions. They bleed onto the stage and it flows into the cracks of the crowd. They keep spilling their drinks and will most likely never get to take a sip of anything. They'll bust a few dance moves, but will save the really good ones for the moment they ask for your hand in marriage.
So, in conclusion, if you would like to get hit in the face with a mic stand accidentally then this might be the band for you."
