biographical info

Airport is the "little baby boy" of Aaron Corbett and Jordan Bonaparte. They gave birth to their precious angel during 2002. It all started when Jordan was laid off from his job in Halifax and moved home to live the cape Breton dream (drawing unemployment), Aaron in the meantime was playing solo gigs around town and performing in an improv comedy troupe. The two were introduced after one of corbetts gigs. Jordan liked his songs and Aaron needed a band, thus it was born.

After sitting down with acoustic guitars and dickin' around the two realized they shared similar goals in their music and realized that they wrote and played well together. After only 2 weeks of writing the two recorded a 5 song demo and began playing shows around town. Initially, they played a "sit-down acoustic-type" set.. however, the show evolved to the point where it was time to put down the acoustics and rock the faces off every mother in the bar breathing.

The decision to rock included taking on local drum legend Thomas Allen (Three piece suit as well as Carmen townsend fame) and bass man Donnie Coolbreeze. After bringing on the full band Airports sound became as big and as powerful as the gods themselves. Also, the band successfully developed the sound they have been searching for and were previously unable to achieve as a two piece acoustic group. Their upbeat folk/rock love songs were able to bounce, Bonairport's 24K gold riffs were able to shine, Corbett could put down his guitar and dance. They were free..

Currently, Airport are playing shows mainly around Cape Breton, however, a summer tour of Canada is in the works as well as a new album featuring the whole band is part way complete.

If you have the chance, be sure to catch them whenever you can. They are a band that is truly passionate about the music they create, and have a great time playing it.
