Born and raised in Toronto, Canada into a family of educators (father is an aeronautical scientist – mother is a medical professor) Christien Paul has more to offer than his addictive music. His approach is not to get his audience hooked but empower them with knowledge and inspiration using his blog to touch on such topics as relationships, addictions, depression and other self-help subjects.

This indie singer/songwriter has a vast breadth of knowledge derived from his entrepreneurial pursuits such as Nautical Progressions (an artist-development company) and EPKhosting.com (a documentary on the Canadian indie music scene). Last but not least comes his spiritual journey which began after the demise of the relationship he had with his first love of 6 years.

In the last year, Christien has been gaining outstanding momentum having played Canada's largest music festival (Canadian Music Week) and then toured Europe from the south of France up to Paris and into the Netherlands where he was featured on Amsterdam FM and shortly after featured on the MySpace Canada home page among other independent outlets such as the Indie Rock Invasion show in Kitchener, Ontario and a column entitled “the next Canadian Cutie” by AnnieG (a freelance journalist).

Upon returning to his home in Toronto in the summer of 2009, Christien began to redefine his sound and performance with the incorporation of a video projector and a pre-recorded backing band of his own performance on piano, drums, guitars, synths and much much more. This is Christien's version of the one-man-band; performing on guitar/ukelele with the help of Ableton Live (a live sequencing program used by many Djs).

Scheduled for release in the spring of 2010, is his debut EP “Standing Still” (for you I will); a collection of love songs and self-discovery as he awaits the return of his first love. The release will be made as an Enhanced CD full of video content captured during his tour in Europe including all of the ups and downs ranging from being rushed to the emergency room to getting an encore while on stage.
