Aerith: The Figurative Mode of Representation

But they do not know what lies ahead, for inside their own destiny's they may already be dead

All good things must come to an end, but that doesn't mean a new adventure can't start.

Aerith was formed out of the crumbling remains of a couple Burlington projects. Jan 2008 saw the end of the band versus Cole, but Chris Sindrey (Drums) and Jamie Stieva (Guitar & Vocals) were determined to keep making music together. During off time from scheduled VC practices (Oct. 07 - Jan 08) they would get together to start working on a more rock orientated sound. At the same time Cody Greer (bass) was having problems with anything he tried to get off the ground and it happened to work out that he was available to come and "jam".  The three boys worked hard over the three months and during the month of January went into Sundown Studio's (Jordan Valeriote) and recorded what would become known as the Sector 5 demos,

After the demo was completed, it was decided that a fourth member was needed to fill out some of the guitar work. Taking up most of 2008 with their search for another guitarist, the demo grew stale and new songs where written. After Steve Gill (guitar) was added it was decided that Aerith would re-enter the studio to record a new EP.

 Dec 2008, the band once again returned to Sundown Studio's in Guelph and recorded the Suburbs EP. An eclectic mix of Rock/Indie/Metal/Prog.

The Suburbs EP also represents the start of the concept portion of the band. In the vane of bands like Pink Floyd, The Who, Coheed & Cambria, Thrice, The Dear Hunter. Aerith is the tale of four individuals, who commit some of humanities most terrible crimes (based on real life happenings) but who will ultimately face themselves for all the atrocities they have committed.

   The idea for using real life events to base the story on came from a simple conversation Jamie had with his wife. He asked her why she didn't like watching horror movies. To which she calmly responded that why watch something in a movie (fiction) that she can see if she just turns on the news!
