biographical info
When I was a kid, I first fell in love with the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck and Prince. I spent many days of my life trying to learn their licks; I imagined how they played and that I could someday play like them. Well, that never happened! But, somehow, I did learn how to play. I honestly don’t know how it happened, it just did. One day you’re trying to learn chords, the next day scales, rhythm, arpeggios, harmony… but you’re always listening. As all these things evolve, you realize that all you’re trying to do is get the sound in your head out through your speakers. It took me 23 years to finally start getting that sound and I owe this all to the Fender Stratocaster.
My cousin, Rob, told me for years to play a Strat, but I moved in a different direction (although, ironically, my first electric guitars was a Fender copy). I was really into Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt, and Eddie Van Halen and they never used Strats, so neither did I. The funny part is I would never use a Marshall amplifier because those players did. I wanted to sound like me, not like them. So after many years, I was hearing something different, but it just wasn't quite right. In the back of my mind I knew the truth - I had to buy a Strat. Instantly, it was the sound! It brought me back to my roots and made guitar fun again.
I would like to thank all my family and friends for their continuing love and support and to everyone who has helped make my journey the success it is today.
