biographical info
I grew up on a farm just outside of Limerick Saskatchewan. Limerick has one gas station, one grocery store, one hotel, and it used to have one school until that closed a few years ago. There are two things to do in Limerick: 1) drink and 2)...well...nobody knows what the other thing is. That said, I've never actually consumed an alcoholic beverage in my life. So I guess if you've ever wondered what happens to those kids who grew up in tiny drinking towns who don't drink...this is it!
My interest in playing music started when I was about 12. My dad's old guitar always had a certain lure for me. When a couple of my friends were trying to start a band they wanted me to play bass for them. Of course, I had no interest in that. I was the electric six string sitting in storage that I was wanting to get my hands on. From there I jammed with friends, played in bands, wrote tons of music, learnt to play drums, & found a new love: audio.
After attending the Ontario Institue of Audio Recording Technology I realized how much I liked having all of the control. At least, when it come to composing & songwriting. I found that I had not problem with writing the song, tracking the song, mixing the song, producing the song & then going on to market the song. Since I had the skills and training I always thought my best marketing tool as an audio freelancer was that I could basically make up several different bands, write and record all of their music and then market those bands both for their music AND as a a producer/mixer.
It's a work in progress. However, Aaron Sinclair Music is the first actualized extension of that plan. This is the music that I write and compose, it's genre may vary as it is mainly the music that I would like to get on to movies or into the hands of artists who can do more with it then I could. It's also the music I would like to take to a music publisher. I honestly wouldn't have guessed that my first finished piece would have been a symphony but hey, life is full of surprises and I'm sure proud of it!
