Ben and D (as their nick names have it), met in the spring of 2001 and have been steadily building their foundation in this ever toughening Canadian Music Scene. When combining the lyrics and melodies of Toronto born singer songwriter Andi D with the melodic soul and solid groove bass lines of writer Jen Benton , a refreshing and original mixture is formed. After years of investment in other projects such as Mermaid Café, Joy and Drive By , these two girls bring much experience to the table, and have managed to showcase their music in such regional events as Toronto Pride 2001, NXNE 2002, Burlington Sound of Music 2003, and Canadian Music Week 2004. Together and individually they have shared the stage with such noted artists as Staggered Crossing, Hawskley Workman, Half a Halo, Kathryn Rose, Victor Wooten, MC Divinity, and Merrill Nisker (Peaches). Currently august is working with Producers Rob Laidlaw (Honeymoon Suite, Alannah Miles, Kim Mitchell,) and Shiraz Tayyeb (drummer/songwriter), as well as showcasing their live show in Toronto and the surrounding area. While in the studio Andi and Jen are working with a variety of Toronto 's best musicians. Live they are joined with Seamus Carling on guitar and Tim Popek on drums delivering the full august sound.
