Well tuned
Fears, the album, started in a Winnipeg coffee-shop. Songwriting partners Darren Macdonald and Marc Mollot wanted to create an album of pared down, roots-influenced music, dealing with personal issues and observations on life.
The project caught the attention of Joey Serlin, guitarist and songwriter of the Watchmen, who came on board as producer. (Joey also plays on a few tracks, but don't tell his label...)
Stylistically, >audiochrome's< music is as diverse as the players involved. While originally conceived as an acoustic album, Fears has a much fuller electric sound, brimming with catchy guitar licks, digital sampling and layers of inventive melodies. Joey Serlin's Canadian guitar-rock influence is present, and simple, beautiful harmonies resound throughout the album. >audiochrome's< Fears stands on its own as a unique showcase of what can happen if talented musicians come together, focus on a common goal and fire on all cylinders.
