biographical info
APVTH is a Heavy Metal band based in Montreal Quebec currently consisting of only its founding member, Kosta Bayss. Originally called 'A Psycho Voyage Through Hell' at it's inception in 1994, Bayss recorded a series of underground demo cassettes in the 90's (calling upon a friend to provide vocals and bass) and used random musicians for stage performances until the year 2000, when Bayss decided to call it quits. Those original early demos were often given away and less than fifty copies were ever printed of each.
Looking back at the terrible quality of his early recordings, Bayss decided to make the band's first studio quality cd in 2005 titled 'Resurrection' which featured his longtime friend returning for bass and vocal duties. A few shows followed until Bayss decided the direction of the music had to change and that he would have to do everything himself in order to achieve the sound he wanted. In 2010, Bayss returned with 'The Goetic Sessions: Gateways to the Necropolis' in which he did everything himself in his home studio that he had been building over the last few years. The Goetic Sessions saw Bayss re-record songs from early demos, new songs and featured Bayss playing every instrument. The musical style varied and was more of a test-run for the recording of the follow up cd, 'The Necropolis' which was released in January 2012.
Bayss, is a self taught multi-instumentalist who's lyrical content is often nihilistic, mysanthropic and narcissistic. Musically it is best described as Symphonic Thrash with Black/Death Metal undertones.
