biographical info
Angie was born November 17, 1979 in Abbotsford, British
Columbia, Canada, to Newfoundland-born parents, Carson and
Elaine Noftle. The third youngest of 8 siblings, Angie grew
up in both a spiritual and musical home with most of her
siblings playing an instrument. She started playing piano at
the age of 8 and continued taking lessons until her Grade 11
year. Angie participated in many musical groups throughout
high school and college, mainly; vocal jazz, chamber choir,
concert choir, and was a voice major and piano minor in
college.
She began writing her own music at the age of 16 and was
fortunate to have access to a recording studio which her
brother, Joel, had in his home. During her time in college
Angie recorded some of her music in Joel’s home studio, but
is currently recording with him much more seriously to get
her first CD put together. After one year of college Angie
got married to her now husband of 6 years, Jared Palfrey.
They have written, recorded and performed several songs
together, and continue to make music a major part of their
relationship and their family of 4 children.
After their first year of marriage things became very busy
when Angie gave birth to their first baby girl.
Approximately one year later, Jared found work WAY up north
in Fort St. John, BC and they lived there for 2 years and
had 2 more babies! Both girls! Some of their fondest
memories and friends were made in Fort St. John. The long
winters, the northern lights, the moose that would regularly
jog through town…the warm, friendly people. They loved
living in up north, but Jared’s need for extra schooling
brought them back down to the coast, where they have lived
happily being so close to family and friends. Not long after
moving, to their sweet surprise, Angie became pregnant with
baby number 4…a boy!
The busyness of motherhood left Angie little time to play
piano or sing...until her husband created the LDS Music
North Festival. A venue for LDS local artists to perform
their non-religious music in a safe, family-friendly
atmosphere. Over the years she had written and performed for
weddings and church meetings, but Angie now had a reason to
practice up her old music with the opportunity to perform in
the festival, something she hadn’t done in 5 years. She will
be playing again in this year’s festival in Abbotsford…this
has been just the spark she needed to start writing again,
and is now recording her album “Been & Gone”...check out
this site regularly for updates on when her album is going
to be ready for sale!
