biographical info
Aldo García Mora’s life is tapestry woven from a love of art, music and nature. A native of Monterey, Mexico – Aldo’s musical career began at the early age of 13. As a percussion specialist with a passionate voice, Aldo has been a pioneer in Mexico’s music industry forming bands such as “Crazy Lazy”, “Equus” and “Casino”. From rock to reggae, each has made its individual mark winning song writing competitions and recording CD’s which have been released nationally across Mexico.
One of the strongest catalysts in Aldo’s career stemmed from a short hiatus from music in which he pursued his love of nature leading eco-adventure tours in the Guatamalan-Chiapanecan (Lacondon) jungle. A chance encounter with a rogue landmine, on the banks of the Usumacinta River, nearly cost Aldo his life. Suffering from severe burns and shrapnel wounds, Aldo was evacuated by foot, boat and plane to the nearest medical facility. More than 24 hours after the accident, Aldo was stabilized in Villa Hermosa, Tabasco. During the process of the evacuation, Aldo experienced a spiritual awakening of his ethnical being in which his sentiments were opened to the jungle, its inhabitants and the spirits of the Mayan people. Inspired by the fragility of life, the strength of nature and the compassion of the spirits which sustained him, Aldo began to compose his music and paintings in which is reflected the energy and magic of the “Selva Maya”.
