biographical info
Adam Kozak has been a fixture of the Ontario underground indie-rock/punk scene for years in various punk rock bands, being an especially respected original songwriter and musician.
Adam cut his teeth on songwriting by writing and recording full rap songs on little boom boxes with a friend at the age of 11. These rap songs would include all sorts of samples and loops all done with the simplest of equipment. A cassette deck, microphone, keyboard and a turntable would be about the limit of these elementary school recording sessions.
Musically, Adam creates feelings by sculpting grooves and melodies that show a powerful, unique and innate understanding of the beautiful simplicity of a child's folk song, the hook-heavy pull of classic Motown ear candy and the emotional, visceral rawness of punk rock.
Lyrically, Kozak's songwriting pulls much from his own personal experience, whether it be living through tragic family death and supporting that family at a young age or the joyful bliss of finding the love of his life. Good or bad times, all with a sense that laughter could burst out of him at any given moment.
Now he's just putting it out there, confronting his shy boy nature head on by agreeing to claim his name as his band.
