biographical info
Born in Enkhuizen, The Netherlands Aafke grew up on Vancouver Island, Canada. Learning young to harmonize with her family around the kitchen table. At Church and School she joined the Choirs performing with her sisters and Solo.
Aafke has since lived in, Athens Greece, Calgary Alberta, Vancouver B.C. and finally back to Vancouver Island where she experienced Musical Theater with the Lead role in a local production of the Patsy Cline Story.
Aafke decided to make Music a priority in her life, starting New Years eve 2002 she took up playing the guitar.
Now January 2004, she is releasing her Debut C.D., ...found my ruby slippers.
Aafke's unique vocal style is the central theme of this album with her eclectic mix of rock/country and jazz originals.
The carefully crafted music draws the listener into the emotion of the romantic and inspirational lyrics.
Today Aafke is working with her band on new songs and preparing to tour and promote her new C.D.
