biographical info
Formed originally in 1998, the Toronto-based group recorded their debut 4-song EP entitled If Life Interests You with producer Rob Wilson, bass player Kevin Boylan, and drummer Jon McCann (Guided by Voices/Nassau). The group disbanded shortly after the final mixes were made and spawned solo efforts from band founders Brendan Michie (Air Damage) and Nick Porter (Chainclipper).
After spending 2002 collaborating on one another's projects, Michie and Porter realized that there was no escaping their natural musical partnership. Enter the ever-imaginative bass stylings of Ewan Gibson, who hails from Dublin, the tastefully versatile drums of Cameron de Laat (Spout-Bec, Beatz Massive), and and the ambient sax and keys stylings of the multi-talented Michael B. and A NEW DECADE stood ready for its second incarnation.
The debut EP "Practicing the Art of Self-Defense Pt.1" is now finished and ready for July 2004 delivery. The album was produced by Scientific American, engineered by A.N.D. with drum recording by Rob Balon (Highland Park Studios). The album was mixed by John Hornak of Big Media Factory and mastered by Noah Mintz at Lacquer Channel.
