biographical info
A Mixture Of Frailties is the pseudonym of Toronto-based songwriter Adam Mitchell.
‘A Mixture Of Frailties’ is borrowed from the title of a Robertson Davies novel about the development of a young singer trying to leave some kind of legacy in the world.
Moving back to Canada after finishing school in London in 2009, I found myself in the same situation as most of my friends – unemployed due to the recession and going through a life transition without a whole lot of hope.
I started writing songs again as a way to cope, and as a way to pass the time. I wanted to write songs that my friends would enjoy playing and that would give us a sense of purpose.
I have discovered that there is nothing I love more in the world.
After many months of hard work – writing, recording, mixing, photographing, filming – my debut album is finally complete. These ten songs stand as a record of the last two years, and all of the unexpected joys and sadness that came with them.
I hope you enjoy the music. Tell me what you like about it. Tell me what you don’t like. If you do like it, pass it along to a friend. There will be much more to come.
