biographical info
Born in Quebec and currently living in Vancouver, Kevin Krebs has been active in numerous musical projects since the late 1990's.
Since 1999, Kevin has been working under the moniker of 833-45, through the Quebec based internet label No Type (http://www.notype.com). As 833-45, Kevin uses shortwave and other radio transmissions as source material to construct distant, cold and droning ambient music, layered with sporadic outbursts of sähkö-inspired percussion.
Inspired equally by Finnish minimal techno and electro-acoustic compositions, 833-45 attepts to explore complex musical and sonic territory from the signals and waves penetrating the air around us.
Kevin graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2000 with a BA in Communications. While there, he had the good fortune to study Acoustic & Electro-Acoustic Communication with Barry Truax. He is also a member of The Canadian Association for Sound Ecology.
