biographical info
In a city known for Gretzky and Messier, 40 Thieves lace up like Paul Coffey. The Edmonton power-trio get it done with a work-horse of a blue line consisting of Grant Callaghan (drums and vocals) and Lee Klippenstein (bass and vocals), while Caleb Neumier (guitar) is poised to put the puck in the net or pick your pocket because it's what he was born for.
On their debut EP "Omens" 40 Thieves wear their influences on their sleeves; drawing comparisons to yesterdays heroes The Clash and The Jam, while taking cues from reggae and gentlemen like the Boss. Eric Budd of the late Our Mercury lends his hands to play organ, adding even more for the good people to move to. With less than a handful of songs (three) appearing on Omens, the thieves have left both fans and press desperately wanting more.
Together, 40 Thieves have managed an impressive rookie season, not only releasing the Omens EP on Paperbird Music, but also adding numbers to the odometer of their Vandura. With a criss-cross of tourdates around Western Canada in winter 07/08, as well as numerous local shows playing with hometown hero's, the thieves will be heading back into the studio again to record another E.P. in the spring. It would seem 40 Thieves have just got started on what looks to be a long career.
