2 Years Legal was formed 5 years ago by 3 friends in a Montreal suburb. The three added a drummer, and started writing songs as a four member band. When trying to decide on a name for the band, the founding members said 'I bet that by the time we start playing on stage we'll have been legal for two years… we'll be 2 years legal!' From that day forward the band has stuck with the name, although that is one of the few things that has stayed the same over the years. 2 YEARS LEGAL has had to switch drummers and had to rework their music when their rhythm guitarist and co-songwriter took leave of the band to move out west. This forced the band to start over. However, the tough times have only made them stronger. The band is tighter and more confident than ever, and is ready to rise to the top of the charts. 2 YEARS LEGAL already has built up a following in Montreal over the past few years, and has gotten radio recognition and airplay from a couple of local stations.
