SMM companies in the music industry is not a great idea. While you're growing fans, they're only concern is getting you clicks, likes, and follows. No regard to the content that you wish to portray, nor do they honestly bother getting exactly what you need. Do SMM companies really work for getting your music the exposure you need? We do not believe so, but you be the judge. BME (Big Men Entertainment)caught up with Richard who works for an SMM firm in downtown Montreal, and this is what he had to say:
"We acquire a database of individuals on-line by posting surveys on websites. They only receive emails about things relevant to what they agreed to. From this point businesses contact us to have their social media network exposed. We send out mass emails to the database that corresponds to that business' needs. It's as simple as that. Anyone can do it really, but hiring a firm to handle your social networking is certainly expanding."
