WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF THE 12 STRING GUITAR!!!
Dan Werboweski/aka "12STRING" is a songwriter/guitar specialist from Vancouver, B.C. Songwriting, performing, and session recording after 42 years of study and practice has rendered him a "Rising Force" in the Country/Folk/Celtic music scene in Canada. One would not normally think of the variety of music that could be executed on a 12 string guitar other than strumming, chording, and some occassional picking but, Dan has helped to create a whole new world of musical abilities for this instrument.
With influences from mandolin, guitar, lute, dulcimer players, and such with names well known around the world such as, Yes's Steve Howe, Leo Kottke, Jimmy Page, Frank Zappa, Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, the list goes on, Dan has been able to turn the 12 string guitar in to a primary "Instrument of Composition".
In an interview and listening session with Dan and his Guild 12 string guitar, we were suprised with the versatility he introduced with this instrument, playing not only Country, Folk, and Celtic, and traditional Irish compositions, but ventured as far as to give us a taste of Funk, Alternative, and other genres he was able to adapt to the 12 string guitar including a rendition of Enrique Iglasias' huge hit "Hero", which took on a whole new dimension of texture as a so called "Unplugged" version saying, "Who knows, maybe one day I'll even get the chance to play it with him or record it for him. You never know in this business with the range of musicians who love to do unplugged versions of their most popular works."
