‘...an uplifting and empowering listen that has you rooting for their success. Hollow Ponds is a great album and is unlike anything I’ve personally heard before.’   Folk Radio UK

100 mile house is the Edmonton based rootsy husband and wife duo of Peter Stone and Denise MacKay along with multi-instrumentalist Scott Zubot.  Since playing their first show together in 2009 these 3 musicians have been winning over audiences with their energetic yet intimate live shows.

With frequent radio play on CBC, CKUA and college radio stations across Canada, 100 mile house has gained steady momentum and loyal listeners.  The band’s recent release Hollow Ponds (June 2011) peaked at No. 2 on the Earshot National Folk Chart and the track ‘Better, Still’ won the Calgary Folk Festival songwriting contest in the ‘Pro’s and Prose’ category. The album was recently included in CBC's 'Key of A - Best of 2011' as well as CKUA's 'Top 100 of 2011.' With sincere lyrics, sweeping strings and breathtaking harmonies 100 mile house have created a collection of timeless songs which carry the theme of escape, both from and back to the places they knew when they were young.

100 mile house have performed at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics in association with Alberta Foundation for the Arts, have taken the stage at the infamous Canmore Folk Festival and were part of the TransCanada Alberta Music Series in Calgary and NXNE in Toronto. The band also has 2 western Canadian tours under their belt and a live recording of their show at the Communitea Café in Canmore, Alberta is available on CBC Radio 2’s Concerts On Demand.

The band has some exciting shows lined up for 2012 including a trip to Memphis for the International Folk Alliance Conference as well as performances at the The Calgary Folk Club and Nickelodeon Folk Club.
