In Hour One, we bring you a concert from a blues duo made in heaven…or Montreal, actually, which is close.

Dawn Tyler Watson is an amazing and soulful singer, who’s a six-time consecutive winner of the Quebec Lys Blues Award for Best Female Artist, and has twice take home the Maple Blues Award for Female vocalist of the year.

For over two decades, Paul Deslauriers has been leading light on the Quebec blues scene; a masterful guitarist, singer and songwriter. Together, these two artists truly make beautiful music.

Here's Dawn Tyler Watson and Paul Deslauriers are with a live jam they call "Wiggley Fingers".

The second hour feature is an interview with roots music chameleon Geoff Muldaur. His artistry first came to light in the 1960’s when he and his then-wife Maria were playing jug band music together. Muldaur was a founding member of the Paul Butterfield Better Days band, has worked on dozens of albums for artists like Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt and BB King. Famous quote from UK music icon Richard Thompson: “There are only three white blues singers, and Geoff Muldaur is at least two of them".

Here's Geoff Muldaur with "Downtown Blues".

Saturday Night Blues airs Saturdays on CBC Radio 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on CBC Radio One from 9 to 11 p.m.
