The 2012 Juno Awards are in the bag, but as we reviewed the list of the 2012 winners on Sunday night, a few stark trends emerged.

Got it. Next year, a bearded Feist will release a Christmas record. (Didn't see that one coming, right?)

I hate to think of Feist with a beard. But I guess all great musicians must make sacrifices for their art. It's a good thing Mr. Bieber released a Christmas album, because he doesn't look old enough to grow a beard.

@ PaavoNurmisGhost, can you imagine this info getting out there? All of our female vocalists taking testosterone injections in order to grow facial hair?? and learning a bunch of crappy Christmas songs for their next albums??? This could get bad...
@zoot aloors - It would be sad if it got to the point where Juno nominees had to be tested for performance-enhancing drugs, etc. I'd hate to think of, say, Sarah Harmer having to go pee in a cup right after I saw her singing her heart out on stage.
P.S. As a non-Canadian, I had to pass a rigorous screening procedure to secure a CBC Music account. Besides providing a photo of myself wearing a beard, I had to complete a written test in which I had to use words like "toque" and "poutine" in a sentence. It took three tries, but I finally passed.
Bonus points for the correct, Canadian-approved spelling in such a hostile environment, Paavo, we use them here on purpose, as you may well know, to weed out wannabes; you have the markings of exemplary R3 Blog denizen! Now, if we could only do something about that barren Avatar photo space of yours...hope to see you around the blogs, welcome, for sure!
Oh, and thanks for the mental image in the first paragraph in [#6], those are the ones that linger.
@zoot alors - I'd seen different spellings of toque, but "o" seemed to be the more common/preferred one. Thank God I passed that test, or I might have gotten booted off the site!
