Question 1: I have been voting for Rich Aucoin, but any of those songs are great really. It was a hard choice to make.

Question 2: I'm stuck in class all day with no TV so I haven't been watching the games, but I've been following the Canadian stats online and am very proud of our 5 medals so far!

I voted for Wake Up by Arcade Fire, the best one to sing along with I think. Second place was Stadium Rock.

I've been watching the games here and there. It turns out that volleyball is a lot more fun to watch than I thought. I prefer the court to the beach because the court is more exciting. Very strange, because I figured I would only be interested in women's beach volleyball, for the outfits.

I won't lie, I'm much more into the winter olympics - hockey, speed skating... I'm meh in general about the Olympics but did think it was pretty cool when it was in Vancouver.

Although there is something to be said for male swimmers. :) My friend Alicia and I watched swimming religiously in 2008 while consuming beers.

I made a wise crack when I recently heard an interview with Michael Phelps. The interviewer was asking about how he was feeling.

"I feel pretty relaxed these days..." he responded.

To which I said: "YEAH, 'CAUSE YOU'RE SMOKING THE GANJA!"

Q2: yesssssssssssssssss. I have the livestreaming app on my phone so i watch at work all day. really into the women's football tournament. Canada had a great game vs Sweden yesterday. I've been watching indoor volleyball this morning. swimming is great. handball is great. tennis is great. it's all so great.

The 2012 Summer Olympic Games are lacking in sports that I feel are/should be in there. Baseball, Cricket, Shirling are just a few of the missing ones. Horse Dancing and Interpretive Baton Twirling don't really "grab" my attention.

Stadium Love might as well be our new Championship anthem but I don't see us having to use it anytime soon, unless we can get a rowing Gold or maybe mountain biking (is that still an Olympic Sport in the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games?)

GoodMorning Folks!!

We voted for 'Wake Up' because it is a personal #champthem song of ours and it is just gets us so PUMPED when ever we hear it.

Have not watched a second of the games. We have no tv... but the bigger factor is that we have no interest.

Winter Olympics are much better. We worked for 'The Man' at the games in Vancouver and got to attend all the best events... that was awesome!

Poll Question 1 - Wake Up

Poll Question 2 - I missed the opening weekend b/c I was camping, but I'm trying to watch when I can. I get WAY more excited about cheering for Canadian athletes at the winter games. Those are OUR games. For the summer games, I watch it more for the sports themselves (my faves: gymnastics, diving, swimming, track & field) and to cheer on underdog countries in general. That said, obviously, if there is a Canadian competing, I will be excited and cheer them on. Kudos to the Canadian women's gymnastic team on their amazing, unheard-of TOP 5 FINISH! They were a lot happier than the sour-puss team who won silver.

I must say I am jaded about the Olympics. Can't say the Name? Perfect example of how they are tainted by commercial interests, winning at all costs, results that may next month Or next year be found to be the result of doping. Sadly it is the Hundreds of sincere Athletes that pay the price for the Lost integrity of "the games" . I wish they would aspire to different use of their Talents.

@jondixon - that is disturbing. Here are my 2 theories -

Theory #1 - Thief needed to quickly change appearance to escape from the law, but didn't want to be weighed down by a whole load of laundry.

Theory #2 - thief is down on his luck, needs clothes, but feels guilty about being reduced to theft, so only takes what he needs, and doesn't leave you naked.

Still weird that a stranger is walking around in your underwear.

I was watching some of the Canadian Men's Beach Volleyball game last night and I was disappointed by how often they hit their serve into the net, or long. For goodness sake, the net and the line aren't moving. If you can't do the jump serve then use the old fashioned serve, but at least put the ball in play!

Stadium Love gets my vote! Not the most Canadian song, but such an appropriate championship anthem.

I haven't really been watching the olympics. I'm trying to avoid spending a lot of time in front of screens while I'm injured. I am pretty into the concept though. I love seeing the clip of london ontario in that one nike commercial

Binsy- I heard him interviewed on Democracy Now, and he identified There as an American. I think his Canadian identity is a Small part of his life. His show at WFF was so amazing, I was very diassappointed that he Predictably ended with Wavin Flag, although I did like the Spin he put on it

i was driving cross country when this topic came up last week and couldn't comment on it this so this advice is late to arrive...however

i offer the White Stripes "Thousand Nation Army" as the prime example of a great champthem...the words and title don't matter at all..most people chanting in the crowd probably don't even know where the tune came from but the beat was adopted ad hock across the nation because 90,000 people at a college football game can easily join in at the same time...these days you're going to hear it at every major college football game in the U.S.

that's why i'm voting for Rich Acoins "It" (although i have some doubts that the beat isn't quite as powerful or rockin as it should be for a football or hockey crowd)

I feel that you handled what could have been a tense situation with great aplomb. Although I would question how threatening it all was, and how much was artistist license on your part!

I love that you seized the bull by the horns, so to speak and confronted the noisemakers directly. Too often we let ourselves be put upon by others simply because they are bold, rude and careless. KUDOS to you!
