East Coast Music Week celebrates its 25th anniversary in Halifax from March 6 to 10, 2013. As part of the hype, CBC Music is putting together a list of the top 10 East Coast songs of all time, and we’re looking for your nominations.
The East Coast has always been known for its songwriters and songs. From Gene MacLellan’s “Snowbird” to Joel Plaskett’s “Nowhere with You,” there are literally hundreds of great songs that come from the Atlantic region that are known across the country.
We’ll feature your top 10 nominations on a live broadcast of CBC Radio One’s Atlantic Airwaves on March 9 as part of East Coast Music Week. Some of today’s best-loved singers, including Jenn Grant and George Canyon, will be on hand at the Spatz Theatre in Halifax to perform your picks for the broadcast.
To qualify, your nominated song must have been written by an East Coaster, and it must have lyrics. (And, we hope, a great melody too!)

Nominations close at 11:59 p.m. AT on Sunday, Feb. 10. We'll announce your top 10 East Coast songs on air in the Atlantic region on CBC Radio One's local afternoon drive programs (3 to 6 p.m.) on Wednesday, Feb. 13, and keep an eye on CBC Music for an online list.
