Host: Nana Aba Duncan
The exquisitely talented, soulful folk-pop duo called Dala is made up of Amanda Walther and Sheila Carabine. Darlings of the Canadian music scene, these Juno nominees will perform Christmas music, plus some of their favourite original songs. This concert was recorded at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.

It’s Christmas with the Once

Voted vocal group of the year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards, Newfoundland’s folk/roots trio the Once celebrate the Yuletide spirit with their fourth annual Christmas concert of traditional and contemporary folk music at Gower Street United Church in St. John’s. Special guest Matthew Byrne.

Handel’s Messiah
Host: Julie NesrallahThe Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Chamber Choir under the direction of Ivars Taurins present an intimate and stirring performance of the baroque masterpiece, Handel’s Messiah. The soloists are soprano Karina Gauvin, countertenor Robin Blaze, tenor Rufus Müller and baritone Brett Polegato.

33rd annual CBC Christmas Sing-In
Host: Tom Allen
An annual tradition "with heart and soul and voice," the CBC Christmas Sing-In features your favourite carols and other music for the season performed by choir, organ, brass and percussion, and an audience of more than 1,000 singing along at the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul in Montreal.

CBC Radio's Jonathan Goldstein hosts an hour of retro holiday classics, including his live reading of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! accompanied by a jazz trio and a chorus of more than 200 kids, at the 2012 CBC/McGill Youth Choir Gala in Montreal.

Rex Murphy's Christmas and Classics
An amateur pianist and informed music lover, Rex Murphy has until now kept his passion for music under wraps. However, this holiday season, Murphy will share an hour of Christmas music, stories and classics from his own collection.

Join country music's brightest stars as they perform holiday classics. CBC Music is thrilled to partner with CCMA, CMT and CBC TV to create a unique holiday music special. Celebrate as the brightest stars in country music light up Canadian homes. The spectacular lineup includes Lady Antebellum, Dean Brody, the Band Perry, Gord Bamford, Jimmy Rankin, Billy Ray Cyrus, Paul Brandt, Beverley Mahood and the Tenors, Terri Clark and Johnny Reid.

The McDades: A Celtic Family Christmas

One tradition that has pleased hometown Edmonton fans for years is the McDades' family Christmas concerts. The spirit of the holidays is personified onstage in the honest joy and family atmosphere. With pieces borrowed from the earliest hymns and carols to works written by the band themselves, there's something for everyone to enjoy. It's time for Edmonton to share The McDades' Celtic Family Christmas with the rest of the world.

The Sojourners in Concert

Your friends at Saturday Night Blues bring you a concert with the Sojourners from Festival Place in Sherwood Park, Alta. Nothing speaks to the holidays like the deep, rich sound of gospel music in three-part harmony, and the Vancouver-based vocal group the Sojourners are among the best. Will Sanders, Ron Small and Marcus Mosely each have almost 50 years of singing and sharing music under their belts.

Holly Cole Christmas
Host: Meg Wilcox
Acclaimed jazz songstress Holly Cole will get you in the holiday spirit! Cole performs a concert of well-worn standards and eclectic selections with an uncanny combination of sensuality, innocence, originality and sheer musicality. Enjoy songs from her newly released album, Night, as well as seasonal favourites. The show was recorded at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.

A Laurie Brown Christmas
A two-hour mixtape of the best popular Christmas music of all time. From Bing Crosby to Sufjan Stevens, Harry Belafonte to Diana Krall, as well as music from your favourite holiday TV specials. Laurie Brown tells stories of weird and wonderful traditions past, and family gatherings successful and disastrous, with music to accompany the warm and wistful feelings of the season. All the traditional elements, presented with contemporary sensibility and sense of humour.

Christmas Tonic
Host: Tim Tamashiro
Tim Tamashiro is your holiday host, serving up a refreshing buffet of swinging seasonal music. Holiday favourites from, among others, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett and Diana Krall will provide a cool soundtrack to your holiday.

Feliz Navidad
Host: Tom Landa
Tom Landa, lead singer of the Paperboys and Locarno, will feature seasonal music with a Latin feel from Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Spain and Canada, stitched together with engaging stories from countries where Christmas is celebrated with gusto.
