It’s been all J.S. Bach this April on Choral Concert. That’s because Bach is considered by many to be the greatest composer of all time in the Western classical music tradition. Bach embodied the accomplishments of the masters that had preceded him, purifying the Baroque era down to 30 or so definitive works.
The man was committed to doing it right, and this Sunday Peter Togni brings us our final Bach tribute in a performance that lives up to his greatness, with Montreal’s Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal in a truly beautiful performance of his Magnificat.
Choral Concert, the "Bach the magnificent" edition. Sunday, April 28, 2013, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., (9:30 - 11:30 NT) on CBC Radio 2.
