Wes Anderson's new movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel, comes out on Friday. Unlike most film directors of his generation — Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, Sofia Coppola, just to name a few — Anderson has never directed a music video. Luckily, plenty of directors are keen to borrow elements of his style, and even direct references, for their own music videos.

Here are six videos that borrow from Wes Anderson.

1. '16 Military Wives' by the Decemberists

Film referenced:
    • Rushmore.

Anderson homages:
    • Text on-screen.
    • Slow-motion walking.
    • School uniforms.
    • Goofy hats.

2. 'Oxford Comma' by Vampire Weekend

Films referenced:
    • None, explicitly.

Anderson homages:
    • Futura text on-screen.
    • Tracking shot.
    • Eye-catching tableaus.
    • Minor characters in goofy outfits.
    • Slow-motion running.
    • Privilege.

3. 'Oscar Wilde' by Company of Thieves

Film referenced:
    • Rushmore.

Anderson homages:
    • Futura text on-screen.
    • Slow-motion walking.
    • School uniforms.
    • Close-ups on books.
    • School activities montage.
    • Goofy hats.

4. 'Mother Theresa Can't Drive' by Jose Vanders

Film referenced:
    • The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
