It's easy to stumble over the band's name. Ha Ha Tonka sounds like they're making fun of a child's toy truck. But the name has the same roots as the band's music, coming from a state park in the Ozark Mountains in Ha Ha Tonka's home state of Missouri.
Their music draws on traditional folk music and Ozark roots, making a kind of stomp-along sound that will suit fans of indie rock, alt-country, roots and everything in between.
Their fourth album, Lessons, comes out Sept. 24 but you can listen to it now.
