If you're looking to expand your social circle on Instagram, musicians make for an interesting follow. Sure, they're just as fixated on feline photography as the rest of us. But, their cats are somehow more glamorous and mysterious, their salad photos a little more mouthwatering. Plus, they tend to travel, so you can join them on tour without getting coffee sweats while taking your turn behind the wheel of the tour van.

So if you're looking to supplement your current diet of adorable pug photos (thanks doozy!) with a little bit of musical photography, then check out our mega-gallery of musicians who shoot as good as they sing.

facebook-i tried, but found people were getting frustrated at me for not checking it often enough

personal blog- i mustered 2 updates in 4 yrs

instagram- ?

twitter- i made one, check it once a month or so to see if there is anything going on in town, sir t&c has made more tweets than I.

i guess i just like being outside and interacting with people in person more than using the internet.

Garf we're all extremely happy to have a new ambassador for hockey in the UK, maybe you can convert more fans over there, after all it's just feild hockey on ice with a vicious streak (and very high tolerance for pain, just standing on a big slab of it tends to dull the pain)

Marie, 27 & Garf, 30, i agree 100% that field hockey is a viscous and terrifying sport; my friends and classmates used to beat the shit out of each other playing field hockey with no pads in HS. i should have qualified my remark to mean professional sports. as for rugby, is that a sport? i thought it was just a bunch of rowdy drunks fighting over a dime.

Garf, in the previous post, I didn't mean to be brusque: I was on toast surveillance detail...

We also have non-broken bones, indoor (sometimes) league lacrosse; surprisingly perhaps, a minor spectator sport. But the Indian league (dunno the proper appellation) based largely around the populous Mohawk reserves (= First Nations "Territories"), basically between south-west of Toronto, along the St. Lawrence all the way to Montréal, I believe, THEIR lacrosse is that, um, robust style.

Much like recent Canadian hockey games?

Okay guys, this has been my very depressing morning thus far:

1. wake up, slept through the alarm.

2. Went into the bathroom, for some reason, decided while late, it was now the best time to groom my eyebrows, including trim them, which is apparently a thing, because I was jealous of a girl's eyebrows at dinner last week, which were all perfect, and she said she trimmed them.

2.5 Trimmed my eyebrows, except OH GOD TOO SHORT ON ONE EYEBROW. So then I had to even it out, and fill them in, and they still look weird to me, so I had to wear my bangs flat in my face to hide them (thank god for bangs!)

3. Go to work, walk up 4 flights of stairs, only to find that the door code has been changed. Walk back down and take the elevator back up.

Today does not appear to be my day.

@Cicero - As the posessor of my Dad's eyebrows (can you say bushy?), I have to trim mine regularly, if I don't they will get out of control before my next haircut. You are right it's tricky and easy to make a mistake which is why my hairdresser says she doesn't like to do it. I think I've got it down now though. You need a fine comb, and a trimmer like on the back of an electric shaver. You comb out to the end of the eyebrow hairs and then just trim the ends protecting the rest with the comb, and go slowly evening up both sides.

more freezer tips - put a pot of super hot water in the bottom (once all the food is out) when you need to defrost - helps you get any big chunks of ice off easier.

for berries - if you wash them and place them individually on a cookie sheet in the freezer for a couple of hours, they freeze and keep their shape so they can then all be thrown in a big ziplock bag but you don't end up with a lump o berries.

@smallie - This group is extraordinarily special to me.  But without CBC stoking the fires of the blog and the community, it can't help but start fading away.  Oh, we have our friendships, and some may last.  But what's to bring in anyone else?  Nope.  It'll all fade away.

kirk, I don't see it as a matter of faith, really: "trust" has been broken many times over. Think of all the departures, willing and forced. Grant is the only one, along with Lana, of the old crew that's left, and you can see the difference in the participation rate between Grant live and Memorex -- and I can feel the difference due to the absence of other live, on-air presences.

It's hard not to think that Grant and others are trying to find possible stepping stones, given the givens. Oh, some id due to natural career progression. But certainly (it seems to me), the spirit that was general in R3 has now been reduced to Grant-initiated stuff, and to R3-fans-initiated meetings.

If the central attractors become solely prerecorded, there will go the main drive.

Not that there might not be some sequels...

But adding on to what Benoit post in 290, when people left, has R3 really replaced them and what they offered?  Says a lot that they move Lana to pre record her show in Toronto, but do not bring anyone out (or hire anyone) to do an afternoon show - live - out of Vancouver.  Very telling and very sad.

The length of a man's arm span, measured from the tips of the middle fingers, is about equal to his height.

- The length of the nose is about equal to the first two notches/bends (distal and middle phalanges) of the index finger. This is measured from the nasal bridge to the tip of the nose.

- The length of the foot is about equal to the length of the forearm. Or vice versa. The measurement of the forearm is taken from the wrist to the crook of the elbow (the length of the radius).

- The length of the shin (or tibia) is equal to the width of the hip.

- The length of the hand is about equal to the height of the face.

- The width of the base of the nose is about equal to the width of one eye.

- The distance from the bottom of the nose to the (inner) corner of the eye is about equal to the height of the ear.

- The distance between the eyes (inner corner to inner corner) is about equal to the width of one eye.

- The distance between the pupils is about equal to the width of two eyes. (A little tricky, but some basic geometry*)

Instead of being doomy and gloomy we should be celebrating our amazing hosts and R3 talent. As much as I miss Craig and hate it when Grant isn't here or is pre-recorded, its incredibly selfish of me to complain. Craig has his own CBC Radio 1 morning show! That's amazing in terms of Canadian Radio. Grant is on TV this week and gets to travel the country being the face of R3 and gets to take upwards of a year off to be with his growing family! This is great for them!

We also need to encourage our new talent and instead of complaining how much we miss Craig and Grant everyday we need to encourage Raina, Emma and whoever else fills in because honestly, I wouldn't want to host a show where everyday all I hear is griping about how I'm not good enough/not as good at the other guy. It's not fair to them and its not fair to us because this self-inflicted misery is not fun.

Mentioning, and discussing, do stand apart from "harping on". I feel that I and others were doing the first two.

That is all.

@FG - #333 - That's the vibe I get as well, people (including myself) would rather Raina/Lana/Emma be live.

Also, the playlist has become "safer". More palatable for a larger, dare I say mainstream listener.  I didn't mind that I would hear 2-3 songs an hour that I personally couldn't stand, but see people comment on how much they love it.  Now when Grant plays Mares of Thrace he gets slapped on the wrist and is told he can't play it again.  I don't remember that happening a couple of years ago.

Gov's place = lieutenant governor's residence, aka where Grant's story took place.

Garry Oak meadow = endangered ecosystem.

Scoth broom = invasive species.

Broom pull = annual event where you yank broom out of the ground before it has a change to go to seed.

In other words, it took 25 years of concerted effort to get an invasive species under control in a highly managed property of just a few acres.
