"This new recording is with my regular trio," said Jones in an interview with CBC's Jeanette Kelly. "Jim Doxas on drums and Éric Lagacé on bass, and also this time we have a new addition: we have a wonderful, wonderful violinist by the name of Josée Aidans. She's a classical violinist, but a very, very tremendous and wonderful musician. ... It gives us another element that we haven't had before and hopefully people will enjoy the record as much as we do."

Aidans will tour Quebec with the Oliver Jones Trio in May, with dates in Terrebonne, Sept-Îles, Baie-Comeau, Gatineau and Saint-Hyacinthe.

Oliver Jones at the Montreal Chamber Music Festival 2013

May 10, 8 pm

St George's Church, Montreal

www.festivalmontreal.org

The Festival’s TD Jazz series opens with what promises to be a tremendous jazz offering this year. Oliver Jones, “Ollie” to his friends and to everyone in the audience, just doesn’t slow down despite being a very young 79 years old. He is a giant of jazz, an icon, a national treasure who has been described as unpretentious, inventive and a pure joy to listen to. He’s that and so much more. We are proud to present Ollie with his outstanding musicians, Eric Lagacé on bass and Jim Doxas on drums.
