For the indie set, it's become a Christmas classic, and last night when beloved singer-songwriters Kathleen Edwards, Iron and Wine, Calexico and Glen Hansard (the Frames, The Commitments, Once) sang a rendition of "Fairytale of New York," they made it sparkle.

The star-studded group had performed the bittersweet holiday tune, made famous by Shane MacGowan and late singer Kirsty MacColl, during WFUV’s Holiday Cheer concert at NYC’s Beacon Theatre earlier in the week, and apparently that show went so well that they took it to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
