Several months ago, as we planned our year-end coverage, we started planning something a bit different for your public broadcaster.
And today, we're pleased to unveil the very first CBC Music Magazine, available now for all iOS devices.
In this first issue, we feature several of the most popular and discussed content that we published on CBC Music in 2013: a selection of essays, visual content, our list of the top 100 Canadian albums ever, playlists, our best videos of the year as well as all 50 of our web radio stations.
In addition, the magazine also contains a selection of exclusive content that you won't find on the site, including:
• our cover story, in which Tegan and Sara tell us about their biggest year ever, in their own words;
• the essential albums of 2013;
• a look at the myth of country music's "year of women"
• a personal essay from Barenaked Ladies' Kevin Hearn, who describes his close friendship with the late Lou Reed.
The first issue of the CBC Music Magazine is available now for your Apple iPhone, iPod and iPad.

This is an experiment — a new way for us to expose Canadians to great music from Canada and beyond. So please let us know what you think. Send me an email, or post comments about the magazine to Facebook and Twitter (#cbcmusicmag).
And if you haven't downloaded the CBC Music app, you can get that here.
