It's back! CBC Music's classical holidays stream is the perfect soundtrack for the Christmas season, whether you're shopping, baking, wrapping presents, knocking back a few egg nogs or relaxing in front of the fireplace (real or imagined). It's 24/7 musical tinsel and mistletoe.

Starting today, and running until Dec. 27, the classical holidays stream features a mix of carols, concertos and hits from the choral, vocal and instrumental repertoire.

There's a wide range of gifts under this musical tree, from well known carols sung by the Cambridge Singers, Elmer Iseler Singers, Elora Festival Singers and Monteverdi Choir, to uplifting solos from vocalists like Jessye Norman, Leontyne Price and Monica Whicher. The Canadian Brass, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra and Boston Pops play everything from Handel's Messiah and Bach's Christmas Oratorio to Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride.

We've got it wrapped up for you this holiday season. So join in the spirit, celebrate the joy and discover new musical treasures all day and night on CBC Music's classical holidays stream.

Robert, you're as bad as Costco, posting this before Remembrance day. I'm kidding.

I'd be inclined to extend it past Dec 27th to Greek Orthodox Christmas Jan 7th and Epiphany is the 6th. In Holland my dad always got January 1st off, in the detention room because he would question the nuns 'If Jan 1st is the feast of the circumcision of Christ, what is circumcision and why don't we 'celebrate' it".

Yeah, it's too early, but the weather in Montreal has cooperated (freezing!) so I'm starting to feel all Christmas-y. And now that we're back on standard time, cocktail hour starts an hour earlier, so really there's no going back.

I can see that first frost is first frost, and the y = yippee.

Dear CBC Radio 2 Exec: Congratulations for bringing back some CBC R2 Mobile App functionality for International iPhone listeners.  Hopefully some of your International listeners will check back and realize they can tune in again, albeit with limitations.

Would you please add the direct stream URL to the webpage at http://music.cbc.ca/streams.aspx ?? It really helps when adding it for use in an Internet Radio. Thanks, and Merry Christmas!  :-)
